The Car Booth Sales project was conducted by STAR CUEDIP group. It was spearheaded by Elizabeth Nelson and mentored by Ms Amsa Naidu. Those involved in this project were Hemalatha, Kalaiselvi, Uma Devi, Saraswathy, Rajasundari, Anietha and Keshmavani.
Car booth sales is very popular among other races but this is the first time, a car booth sale is being organized solely for Indians. A total of 48 booths were displayed in this event and the owners said that this was the first time ever for them to try out car booth sales. It was held at Tesco Extra Shah Alam car park on the 7th October 2018 from 4pm till 11pm.
To make this event more interesting, the group gave away prizes for 3 best booths and also 10 lucky draw prizes. Almost all of them boasted of very good sales, despite heavy rain on that day. Some great testimonies include 200% profit for an organic product, easy and affordable concept for startups and small businesses. The entire event was very successful and this was even published in the Tamil Malar newspaper.
Thank you Dr. Maria and Miweps leaders for inspiring me. You all transformed me from calling myself a "Single Mother" to "An Independent Mother". Now I'm proud to call myself as an "Independent Women Entrepreneur". Miweps can change every woman to become stronger.
Miweps gave me an opportunity that I never dreamt of. Outcome of the mentor walk gave me the exposure on training industry both locally and international and also in broadening my network. With that I’ve also managed to adapt to MCO and new norm in the best way possible. More to come and thank you Miweps and Dr. Maria.
Miweps had been a great platform for my self development as well as reaching out to the community. Dr Maria and the team had given me opportunities to take lead in projects, network with high profile personalities, appear on TV interviews and be featured in newspapers! Thus, the exposure had groomed me and now, I've received several accolades and speaking at international platforms to empower more people. It is a beautiful journey, learning and having fun with awesome people in Miweps.
I have gained a lot through MiWEPs, through the CUEDIP programme I have earned myself and Executive Diploma in Administration from IPMA (UK) and was the best student of this class. I also attended Global Walk and through this connection, I got CIDB permit for my business. I became more confident and started speaking on agroprenuership and that gave me some extra income too. I also participated in MiWEPs Car Booth Sales, started off Abbi’s kitchen and made more than 200% profit!
